Dolce Salon & Spa hosted its third annual Arizona Spa Girls Summer Spaaah Series on July 2nd, 2010! The Arizona Spa Girls Summer Spaaah Series is a Phoenix-wide phenomenon that unites top spa destinations with health and beauty enthusiasts through engaging summertime events. The luxury events help spa lovers break the monotony of the summer heat and bring attention to the Fresh Start Women's Foundation, an empowering Valley-based charity that assists women in transition. Fresh Start Women's Foundation is dedicated to helping empower women through the services of the Jewell McFarland Lewis-Fresh Start Women's Resource Center, the first comprehensive self-help center for women in the country. There was a special guest appearance from Pink Heals, a non-profit organization that travels the country in pink fire trucks, delivering the message of all types of cancer survivors. Pink Heals is dedicated to helping young women regain their strength and beauty with fun, confidence building programming and events. "Karen" was the featured pink fire truck at the event and was available for survivors and friends/families of survivors to share their stories by signing the pink truck. Dolce Salon & Spa, along with thousands of salons across the nation are joining together to donate their hair clippings to soak up oil spills. They're collecting the hair clippings and shipping them to a nonprofit in San Francisco, where the hair will be stuffed into nylon stockings and brought to the Gulf.
Every year Dolce Salon & Spa nominates a deserving person to enjoy a complete make-over! This year nominees were military, police, fire and rescue. The nominees could either be due to hardship (injury, loss of spouse, child, parent, etc.) or hard work (special recognition for police, fire volunteer, someone who regularly goes above
& beyond, etc.) Recipients received 2-4 services that included: Color, Haircut, Manicure, Pedicure, Massage, Body Treatment, Facial, Waxing and Make-up Applications. Thank you for all the deserving nominees!
One of the most powerful things you can convey to a teenage girl is that they are beautiful inside and out. That is the ongoing mission of the Arizona Princess Program, to give teenage foster girls an evening that celebrates how truly wonderful they are. Girls, ages 12-15, were crowned a "Princess" this May. The teens were presented with a day of extravagant pampering, as volunteers from Dolce Salon & Spa provided complimentary make-up and hairstyles for each girl. The girls then "shopped" for their ball gown, shoes and jewelry, which were donated by local community members. The princesses were given a wrist corsage and a tiara to finish off their look. They were treated to a fun-filled evening of dinner and dancing!
In April 2010 Dolce Salon & Spa created a special postcard with discounted prices honoring the Livestrong Foundation. A portion of the packages and services sold went directly to the Livestong Foundation!
There are currently more than 97,000 individuals waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. Another person is added to this waiting list every 14 minutes.
Eighteen people who are on the list die every day due to the lack of suitable organs available for transplant.

For the month of October 2009 Dolce Salon & Spa hosted a special fundraising program called
Dolce For The Cure at all three valleywide locations. Dolce donated $20 for every Dolce For The Cure Package and $10 for every Pretty In Pink Package purchased in October. The Phoenix Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is honored that Dolce Salon & Spa has chosen Komen as the beneficiary of Dolce For The Cure event to support the fight against breast cancer!
